Bacteriological quality

Rapid urbanization in Ebolowa (South Cameroon) has increased dependence on public and community boreholes for drinking water, yet their microbiological safety remains poorly documented. This study evaluated the bacteriological and physicochemical quality of water from four highly used boreholes in Ngalane, New Bell, Nko’ovos, and Ebolowa Si I. Boreholes were georeferenced using GPS and mapped with QGIS 3.34.1. Water samples were analyzed for total coliforms (TC) and Escherichia coli, while temperature, pH, total dissolved solids (TDS), and electrical conductivity were measured in situ. Differences among sites were assessed using one-way ANOVA with Tukey’s test, and Spearman’s correlation evaluated relationships between physicochemical parameters and bacterial loads.
